Today is a good day

I’m having a pretty good day today. I’m not quite sure what it is, but I’m feeling positive about things and I’m much bubblier around the office than I have been for weeks (seriously, I’ve been a complete bitch here lately, stressy stressy stress). Possible reasons:

I can’t believe it. I truly can’t believe it.

Tonight, ladies and gents, I won EVERY ONE of my dart games. And not just best of three, either - I won all three rounds in two games each.

What can it mean? Have I improved? Well yeah, I have to a degree. Let’s just put it down to that, shall we?

I haz a keyboard!

I love my implements, I really really do. My iPad (which I have yet to name, btw) is a constant joy. Much as I love it though, the keypad isn't sufficient for long amounts of typing - because it's on-screen, there's no tactile response, so you have to be looking at it as you type, no touch-typing (oh, you can touch-type on the screen? Bite me, you're either lying or really have too much time on your hands).

Sunshiney nails and a throat tube

I don’t often think to wear such a light colour, and I can see why now — this colour’s kinda sick on me! Also flooded my cuticles a bit, but I think I’m getting a bit better. Sally Hansen Lemon Lime as a base, with a Konad stamp in Poppy, which didn’t really work — not a good balance.

Apple karma - I has it

On Thursday morning I took the x-rays of my knee to St Mike’s, as I had an appointment to see the orthopaedic surgeon to have him go over it and tell me what the hell’s going on with it. I spent a couple of hours in the waiting room, which was WAY longer than I had anticipated – I mean, I had an appointment, it’s not like I was a walk-in. When I finally saw him, he told me the problem was damaged cartilage and I’d need physiotherapy again. Well, at least it’s not surgery.

That’s it

Brenda and Eric are married! It was a very nice wedding and the reception was too — I only knew a few people, but everyone was lovely and the reception was held at a high-end billiards place near King and Dufferin, great atmosphere. No pictures (can’t find my files!) but I did make a nice card for them.

Autumn and Spring

I totally forgot to take a picture of my nails before they started chipping! Here they are from a couple of days ago. Nice and autumn-y. I don’t remember what these colours were, sorry – maybe Club Monaco Beam as the base? I suck.

Anyway, I took that off today and replaced it with Essie Pretty Edgy with white Konad stamping. Very liquid, got it all over my cuticles! But I really like the swirly thumb…

Hey there! Okay, to expand a bit on that nail art kit I mentioned before, at the CNE this year I came across a booth where they were doing interesting things with nail polish and etched plates. At first I thought nothing of it, but it kept floating around in my head until I eventually had to have it. And I love it!

Mid-July my friend at work decided it was time for a new phone, which got me thinking about the fact that my own current phone is from 2006, and since I'm on Rogers I'm definitely due for a new one. My current phone plan is good, but I want a data phone.

Back from the North

I'm back! T's cottage was fabulous, as always. Days spent lounging, reading, crafting and keeping him from electrocuting himself with the giant-ass batteries in the basement.
